Are the simulations on the test pretty close to the actual IOS? That is do they allow for the use of ? for help? Do they let you start typing a command and Tab over to complete it?

They're very close to the real thing. They don't support many features that aren't part of the goals for each particular sim, but otherwise they behave the same. The ? most definitely works, and I imagine tab completion would as well, but I've never used it in the real world, so I never tried it in the sim.
