That's weird. I wonder if they had a bug that failed people that should have passed or something. Doing it for such a limited time seems odd.

i wouldnt say 6 months is a limited time, gives people all summer to take the exam fail then take again

I didn't read it wrong. Why 6 months? Why do it at all? I can understand if they did it like MS where you pay more up front (like insurance), but they're doing it for free... That's odd. Giving people freebies if they fail doesn't seem like Cisco's syle.

i'd imagine they're doing it because microsoft just got done doing it
also it might have a lot more to do with vue then cisco

Microsoft isn't FREE though... not even close. And Vue couldn't do anything unless Cisco OK'd it.

microsoft had an offer recently where if you took an exam and failed you could do a free retest exactly like this offer, they also do the exam insurance which is what youre talking about i think

Ah ha! I had no idea they offered a free retake. Learn something new every day. Still seems weird (even more weird from M$, haha) though.

Hey..it is what it is..I don't want to see the Cisco certs diminish in value, and doing this MANY times might do that, but hey...we all deserve a break once in awhile..it's no like Cisco gives us student discounts on hardware/sofware now do they?

You souls that are taking exams in the summer are damn brave...maybe that's why Cisco is doing this...to compete with (b) and warm weather..i Know i'll be distracted from BSCI and ONT..I'll be CCNP by year's end though

I need to recertify my CCNA by August which is why I've decided on the BCMSN test. It covers almost everything I do at work with a few extra stuff so I have hands on experience with most of that stuff already.

I've been tinkering around with GNS3 tonight. Neat stuff! Of course, I have access to 6500's, sup2/msfc2's, 3550's, 2900's, 4500's, all the fiber and GBIC's you could ever want, etc. at work so I will probably end up spending a couple weekends in the lab there.
