I need to add ports to one of my 5510's. Only thing I could find is the SSM-4GE which I believe has Ethernet and fiber built into it?

Got a price of $3442.00 for this module. ouch.


I couldn't find anything on Cisco's website but do they not make one with just 100mb ethernet ports?

What reasons do you need to add ports to it? You probably are SOL, I haven't found anything yet besides the fiber/sfp module which may not even be what you need

I need more ports to connect to seperate secured VPN segments on my network. I was going to do vlan's but management doesn't want to go that route. LOL..

Anyways, why do you think it won't work?

The price for this module is too high I told them to buy another 5510 with base license. I just wanted to see if Cisco offered something more basic at a lower cost.

I don't know of anything for the 5510 at lower cost, best bet would to either buy a 5512-X or something along those lines and maybe run two. I would go with vlan's for things personally and I don't see why your management would be up in arms about that.
