Hey all,

ok odd thing going on.....

- setup uc560
- went through initial wizard for config
- rebooted
- connected fine to new ip assigned
- went to update software pack to 8.6
- error out at phone firmware load
- retried, same issue
- restarted UC
- able to login fine
- software update isn't showing any previous versions installed
- flash isn't showing a factory default config to revert back to now

any ideas? call cisco sbs?

was running CCA 3.0.1 updated to 3.2.1 and then updated to 8.6 software pack fine, found that to update to the 8.6 software pack 3.2.1 is needed anyway.

Now just trying to figure out:
- why the ring tones and backgrounds on the 7965's and spa525's aren't showing up from the UC.
- I have the uc560 connected to an HP Procurve 2610 and the phones running through that.
- setup faxing to a mailbox from the PRI
- anyone have a best practices setup for doing so?

Backgrounds for the 525 phones are stored locally on the phone, not in the router's flash. The 79xx phones should show up there though

As for setting up fax to email, just go to the T.37 config section in CCA, enable T.37. Then make sure the mailbox has an email address associated with it (done under the Voicemail config in CCA). If voicemail to email is working for that user, setting up T.37 is just enabling it, then making sure you have a DID set up to that extension. Once a DID is configured, that user will show up under the T.37 config and you can enable it for faxing.

so more digging, 525's are fine now, 7965's still won't show the backgrounds as well as the ringtones available for all phones aren't showing up, only have chirp1 and 2 available to select from.

Topology view only shows the UC, none of the phones are showing up, is that something the HP procurve may be limiting?

found the issue, flash files were corrupted, uploading the files again. will follow up if this fixes them.

Yes, that topology view is based upon CDP.

figured so, is there a way to have that pass through the HP switches? i know they don't use CDP and use LLDP instead, not a huge ordeal if it's there or not but if it's a quick settings change may as well.

Nope, CCA can only use CDP and Bonjour to discover devices
