I admit to being heavy and needing to loose weight, but these are crap, doesn't take anything other than your height and weight into account.

Any body builder would be considered morbidly obese by this thing

Yeah, you really have to take it with a grain of salt. Those that are obese will know it. If you work out a lot and have quite a bit of muscle mass then BMI is pretty useless.

Yeh BMI doesn't take a lot of factors into account. It's just a generalization that applies to "the average person".


Though, to comment about the body builders, a lot of those guys are VERY hard on their bodies, and they don't tend to live into old age, similar to obese people.

It doesn't take into account frame, muscle mass, etc. BMI can only accurately be calculated in a water tank (displacement method)

Right there with you, man. This is why I got the DDPYoga thing- it's an awesome workout, and is helping me get my flexibility back. I'm strong, just don't have endurance and flexibility- "Power Yoga" is great for that. Couple it with diet, and the pounds will come off.

Hell, if you have a naturally "stocky" build, BMI is useless. Like me.

Mine came out to 38 (using my last known weight). While I admit I am overweight, I'm not the gelatinous blob that would imply.

Arginine (coupled with Ornithine) is amazing stuff. When I was working out in the gym regularly, I could do the same workout with/without arginine supplementation. What I did without it, killed me the next day- couldn't move well, very sore, etc. Take arginine for a bit (to get the levels up- it's not as simple as taking the pill makes you fine that very day) and I'd feel great after the same workout.

Plus, arginine is great for "down under". It's one of the main ingredients in most male enhancement supplements.

Arginine and ornithine when dosed correctly taken right before working out can cause great pumps. I also heard male porn stars take arginine to produce more "volume" in there climactic finish.
