I am creating a report and I keep forgetting how to figure out how to calculate the maximum bandwidth capability of a switch. A Cisco WS-2950 to be exact, for example:

As you can see the traffic on interface FA0/37 was 60 kb/s this is not a heavy load as the switch is able to handle ????? kb/s.

how much bandwith per port and how much bandwidth for the entire switch is what I am trying to figure out thanks.

well,

as you are referring to a fastethernet port - that would max at 100Mbps each direction ( if you are running full duplex)
About the maximum switching capacity of the device: it depends heavily on the switching algorythm you are using ( process-, fast or CEF switching) - device specific number can you see at the Cisco webpage.

cheers

Here are the different conversions for the port. They all represent the same speed.

Code:
        100 mega bits per second
    100,000 kilo bits per second
100,000,000 bits per second

         12.5 mega bytes per second
     12,500   kilo bytes per second
 12,500,000   bytes per second
