you need this:

Code:
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dial 1

Also have you set your password?

He doesn't need a default route as he has:

Code:
ppp ipcp route default

Can you post the routing table from the device and also try and run a ping to somewhere like 8.8.8.8

Thanks guys,

I can't find the Bt password anywhere on the old home hub... I thought that may be 1 of possibly a few issues. Any clue where I'll find this of the default Bt homebub password? I'm told by default the bthomehub@btbroadband.com is set without one.

I'll get that routing table up tomorrow and try a ping.

You should be able to tell if the issue is not having a password by running 'debug ppp negotiation' and posting it up here if you need a hand.

Try putting
Code:
ppp chap password test123

Put that on the dialer interface, I have read before that the setups on the homehub lines dont need a user/pass, what is happening is that the BT BRAS is sending you a authentication request and because you dont have a chap password or a local user account configured for the bras name it is killing the ppp negotiation.

BRILL! that worked... many thanks for that.

If you don't mind I wouldn't mind using your tech knowledge again...

2 questions

1) I can only access the internet using static IP... any way of having dynamic and enable DHCP?

2)

I have connected an AP but currently have no training on this but would like to get it working as part of my setup...

I can access the WAP and the GUI which is great, I just can't access the WEB... feels like I'm starting all over again... I have not set up and security as yet....

Here is my AP and Switch config currently connected to GI1/0/32 on the switch...

Hi,

for DHCP you need a DHCP Pool

Code:
ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.1.254
!
ip dhcp pool pool1
 import all
 network 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
 default-router 192.168.1.254
 dns-server 85.214.20.141 85.214.73.63
 domain-name homenet
 lease 3
!

regards
Michael
