Maybe.
From privileged mode, enter the word 'llama' without quotes and hit enter.
That'll get you into debug mode where you can have a look for the specific debug you want to run.

Ok, what model is your CSS?
My CSS model is Cisco CSS 11500, iOS version is 08.10.1.06.

I just checked another online resource, we can enable dump on CSS aas follows:
CSS(debug)#dump enable all

Let me know whether the above command line works on CSS11500?
Thanks :)

Do you need to see the full packet dump or is a summary enough?

If you just want a summary take a look at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/ ... 4ebf.shtml

We need to see the full packet dump :)

1. Can you advise me on whether the below command to enable logging on the CSS is correct?
CSS(config)# logging on
CSS(config)# logging host <remote_server_ip> log-level debug-7

2. Any impact to the performance of the CSS when we use "debug-7"?

3. Is the debug command below to dump the ip packets is correct?
CSS(debug)#dump enable all

Code:
1. #dump enable all
2. *wait patiently
3. ????
4. >>>>>>>>FAILURE_START

But in all seriousness:
1. Yes. Also, http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntw ... #wp1106609
2. It depends on how many syslogs you send.
3. That will dump everything. Everything. Not just packets. Try this is you need to find out what all the debug commands do - (debug)# hints

Thanks once again for your reply, Halo :)

I just puzzled whether the hidden command "dump" exists in the CSS 11500 switch with IOS ver.08.10.1.06

Perhaps by looking at the TCP traffic? You should see it more obviously there than anywhere else. Also you can look at interface errors on the CSS with the following command:
show ether-errors %IFNAME% - where %IFNAME% is the interface name.
