If I set up a L2L tunnel from location A (ASA 172.16.0.1) to location B (ASA 192.168.0.1 ) could I point clients from location A to a Terminal Server at location B simply by using the TS's local address, 172.16.0.2? (as I would if I was locally on the 172.16.0.1 LAN). I would be using a fiber connection between A and B, bypassing location A's T1 since it is not fast enough for my purposes (still need keep the T1).

My mistake. Terminal Server at location B local address is 192.168.0.2 or did you know thats what I meant?

Well you just create an IPSec VPN tunnel and route the interesting traffic down it to the remote site.. That's the whole point of what a LAN-to-LAN VPN does.

Sorry, I just re-read the question. No you couldn't.. At least, not easily.

Why would you want to do this anyway? Can't you just create a DNS entry of "TS1" and point it to the remote address, then let the VPN take care of the routing?

Simple was the key word in my question, like kindergarten simple. I was curious if it would work in principle. It wouldnt help me anyway because it would be no faster than the present setup, A to B using the same T1. I already have the VPN set up so I can admin location A's ASA. (I can ping the ASA at location A (172.16.0.1) from location B's LAN. I cannot ping the ASA at location B (192.168.0.1) from location A's LAN)

I was thinking it would work something like this: The location B ASA already uses NAT for the TS behind it on the (T1). The present L2L VPN is also using that same outside interface. This scheme would require a different provider than the provider of the T1, using a different block of IPs. The tunnel would be established between location A's ASA and the new ISP's router at location B. That traffic would be handed off to the ASA which would NAT it through to the TS. Yes, no, lame?
