Study Guides can only be bought unless you're referring to illegal downloading.

This may be of help, you can download pdfs of individual chapters:

+1 for Safari Books Online. Especially when work pays for it.

When you buy the Cisco press books you get a pdf of the book on the CD
If your e-book reader supports PDF this would work out well I would think

They must be phasing it out for the new books.

I think you're right. I remember the PDF on older books, and was rather disappointed to find that it was not included on the TSHOOT disc.

Now, you can purchase the book and PDF separately on ciscopress, so it would make some sense that they remove the PDF. If you want it, it costs extra. A bit cheaper, but definitely not free.

Surely you could at least buy the pdf for cheap once you have the book.

Now that ebook readers are becoming popular I am not surprised by this.

That's crap. It's already in digital form before they print it so why not add it to the disc that has 340MB free space.

Well you can buy it regardless. But its only a discount of about $20, IIRC.

Yeah, in this case I'm the angry old man writing to the editor that's for sure.

Edit: Back on topic though I just realised you asked for a free cisco study guide.

I'd check out the packetlife.net cheat sheets and then maybe the forum blog depending on what topics you're chasing. Also I don't know if it's already been mentinoed but there are the RFCs which all these books etc are based on. Except propriety protocols like EIGRP.
