Quick Question - Chapter 9

Sat Jul 23, 2011 4:30 pm

Greetings.

1. The book states that WWNs "identify each element in a Fibre Channel network." While LUNs identifier particular storage hardware such as a hard disk, do WWNs also refer to hard disks, or do they refer do particular ports (interfaces) on a Fibre Channel switch (such as an Cisco MDS), similar to mac addresses?

Thank you.

As far as I am aware LUN is logical interface on a disc or discs.
WWN is a fibre channel address as in mac address.
Good Luck,

David
