Hi, my understanding with the fallowing question is that the interfaces on a wism should be virtual in in a 6509 chassis. Mine are showing up as physical interfaces, and I am trying to find out what it is that is causing the problem. My switch and controller versions are good and here is a list of my code and problems:

1 0 2 port adapter Enhanced FlexWAN WS-X6582-2PA JAE1119FZ6P
3 16 16 port 1000mb GBIC ethernet WS-X6416-GBIC SAD04460DCM
4 16 16 port 1000mb GBIC ethernet WS-X6416-GBIC SAD04281DT5
5 2 Supervisor Engine 720 (Active) WS-SUP720-3B SAL1002A7ZU
6 16 16 port 1000mb GBIC ethernet WS-X6416-GBIC SAL083017J4

The WiSM module interface are physical however they are the backplane connection that you really have no control over. As long as you have them configured right (looks like you do) all should be working. Cant say I have ever seen it where it says GX/X connected trunk 1000 full

As long as "show wism status" shows oper-up and "show wism module X controller X status" has the correct vlans allowed and service vlan, IP, etc you are good to go. From there once inside the WiSM controller config you can create the virtual interfaces to bind to SSID's, etc.

There is a bug in SXI (that is fixed in SXI5) where the port-channel goes down randomly on a wism. If you remove the "wism module 7 controller 1 allowed-vlan 108,150,152,209,999" and "wism module 7 controller 1 native-vlan 999" statements and then put them back, it should come back up. At least, that is what worked for me. Since upgrading to SXI5 I have been better.

while the bug says it is cosmetic, our controllers were actually unreachable.

thank you for the info, I actually found the bug in cisco's site but our standard ver rev is not the one that it has a fix for. I have to do some more testing, but I just found out that my contract status with the company that I work for, has not been managed properly, and I am being pulled off of this site. So I guess they will have to figure it out. Thanks again phil
