JunOS as a second language

Thu Mar 25, 2010 9:17 pm

Juniper has an excellent JunOS CLI crash course for those that are familiar with Cisco IOS. It covers the very basic items so you can start configuring JunOS in a very short time.

(Can this be stickyed as a tutorial in the Juniper forum?)

I second the move to sticky. It's a really well done little course. And if you listen closely there are a few tongue-in-cheek jabs at Cisco as well. :P

Stuck!

Once we get some more together I'll probably make a master sticky with all the helpful links.

Thanks guys.

This gives me a reminder to get off my butt and make time to do tutorials. Maybe after I finish this data center project I can make the time.

I downloaded that course a month or so ago (probably saw it on this post). I've only breezed through it so far, but I do know that I want a JNCIA-? on my resume for if nothing else to make me feel comfortable.

It seems that they have moved the course so that you now need to be registered to watch it.

It's pretty good for something that's free though.

Thanks. Just what I needed. My company will get a client who uses Juniper only.

For some reason, the sign up page asks me for a CertID. I went to Certmanager and it says I should be registered with Prometric. Next the Cert Manager asks me for a score report(?). It seems I need to be certified with Juniper to access this.

I ran into the same thing. Left it blank and was able to get an account anyway.
But it didn't ask to create an account p/w during setup...so used the reset password link.
Can now view that course plus the FastTrack stuff.
