Which program to choose

Thu Aug 04, 2016 2:17 pm

I am going to start a program to obtain certifications, but I don't know which to choose! I have been accepted into two programs and they both have their own set of pros and cons, but since I'm new to the field, I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Here are the programs:

University of British Columbia
Network Systems and Security Professional
8 month program
Price = 15,500
6 weeks internship at the end
Certs I'll earn:
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT)
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2012 R2
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+

British Columbia Institute of Technology
Network Administration with Security Professional
1 Year program
Price = 16,802
8 weeks internship
Certs I will earn:
• Microsoft Windows Server 2012 – Exam 70-410
• CompTIA Linux+ / Linux Professional Junior Administrator (LPIC-1)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• CompTIA Security+
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (Windows Server 2012) Exams 70-411, 70-412
• CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA
• VMware Certified Professional 6 -Data Center Virtualization

Which is better??
