Sorry if I am in an incorrect group for this question...

I have a DHCP scope that I need to subdivide for vlan's
The network is 10.42.0.0 /16 but when I try to create a new scope of 10.42.1.x /16 it returns "the address range and mask conflict with an existing scope" .... is this not a valid address range for this network address??
What I would like to accomplish is creating vlans 10.42.1.x, 10.42.2.x and 10.42.3.x .....

thx for any help..
b

I think what you want is to get rid of the
10.42.0.0 /16
and make a
10.42.1.0/24
10.42.2.0/24
10.42.3.0/24
10.42.4.0/24
10.42.5.0/24
10.42.6.0/24
10.42.7.0/24
etc

Currently you have 1 DHCP scope that can have 65k address in it (you probably don't want that)
