I recently bought an Edimax EW-7228APn Access Point to connect my wireless router (upstairs) to my new Smart TV and Sky Box (downstairs). I set it up as a universal repeater (I thought I might as well increase my WiFi signal downstairs while I'm at it) but as soon as I disconnect the Edimax from my routers LAN port it has serious connection problems (between 50% and 100% packet loss). I changed the wireless security of my router and access point from WPA to WEP and now it works fine. But I'm not comfortable using WEP, because its so easy to hack. Any advice?

A bug in the Edimax EW-7228APn makes spaces unuseable in WPA passphrase! Just forget the spaces and it should work... found elsewhere on Internet
