Ok.

Well this process is self explanatory, setting up the network is easy but im running into trouble with my wireless devices connecting to the strongest signal. Im not exactly sure if there is a fix for this yet or if they have not made a protocol to fix it. I have a big house with solid wall in which i have setup 3 wifi's. 1st Modem/wifi Router, 2nd Wifi access point, 3rd wifi access point. Now the problem im having is moving between the access points my devices such as my ipad are changing from one access point to the next whilst moving throughout the house (that is until it loses the first signal I believe or you turn your ipad wifi off/on so it reconnects back to the strongest/closest access point).

Is there a way of setting something up so you can have wifi through your whole house without having to manually change your wifi connection on your device (to closest access point) as you travel throughout.

Cheers

I believe that you are refering to layer 2 roaming. As far as i know, consumer grade equipment doesn't support it though. If money isn't a problem a few cisco access points and a wireless controller should do the job for you, but that would be pricey for a home network.

its called roaming, most equipment does not have the capability to do it. I have 3 linksys wrt54g routers at home with dd-wrt flashed on each one. I am to roam through the house with it. I am not sure if your equipment supports dd-wrt.

Thanks for that info burnyd. I didn't know that DD-WRT supported roaming. I'm running all Cisco equipment at my house but I don't need roaming for the small sized place I'm in so I don't need a wireless controller (not like I can afford a controller anyway).

Cool. Thanks guys. I kinda thought of a cheaper avenue in which I'll get a large antenna say 12-16dBi omni directional and put the in my roof, this should have enough power to support the whole house. What do u guys think.
