Mon Feb 18, 2013 11:37 pm

i have an ARRIS TM822 cable modem provided by comcast, in addition i have a linksys e3000 wireless router. what i am trying to accomplish is to bridge the cable modem over to the router. i messaged comcast about this issue and i have attempted what they told me to do, but im not getting any where.

odd.
yea, all you need to do is plug the router's WAN or INTERNET interface via ethernet cable to the modem.
from there i'd say unplug both and plug both back in.

what happens is comcast issues your public IP address via DHCP, your router sends a request through the modem to comcast.

if that doesnt work by default, then there may be an issue with one of the 2 devices. could be faulty
