It's about a Linksys WRT54G with Firmware: DD-WRT v23 SP2 (09/15/06) std
it started resetting it's admin panel settings once every few months, lately it does that every few days, like name of LAN network, name encryption and password of the wireless AP, IP filter setting and so on

I can't notice any particular reason for that, any ideas?

Bad hardware or software bug maybe. Have you tried to upgrade to the latest version of DD-WRT?

Then it's a hardware fault

so i have to replace it, or something can be done?

i'm using it quite heavily lately, (load over 80% for days), could that be the reason as well?

You could ask linksys, but they won't do anything as the stock firmware is not on it
