Recently i bought TP LINK TL-SL5428E and installed it to our network. (it is a websmart switch, which i can manage it through browser)

switch IP address

192.168.1.223
255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.96 (which is my router)

I configured my laptop IP address like this

192.168.1.222
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.96

can ping from my laptop to switch and from switch to my laptop, but cant access INTERNET or files which is shared on our server.

(note) from my internet router one cable is connected to switch)

Any help guys?

Can you ping the router at .96?
A topology would be helpful. I assume laptop - switch - router? Also, where is the server located, local subnet (IP? Connection?) or not?

topology

router (192.168.1.1)----->firewall (192.168.1.96) ----->switch (192.168.1.223)

can ping from my laptop to switch and switch to laptop, but cant access internet or shared files. do i have to create acl in switch ? apart from giving ip address to switch i haven't done anything

That doesn't make sense...
You mean you can ping from and to the firewall at .96? You can't ping a switch if you say you haven't given it an IP. I assume it's a typo.
Also, seems your firewall is between your gateway router and the rest of the network, yet it is all using the same subnet (my guess, using classfull network masks). Is your firewall perhaps doing some kind of NAT? Seems to me you have the same subnet on both sides of the firewall, which will cause routing problems. Try renumbering your network (inside the firewall and switch area) to another range e.g. 192.168.2.0/24 for example.

If that's not what you mean, then what kind of firewall is it? Details?
