I have a Canon IP5200r ethernet/wireless printer
Using a Netgear WNDR3300 router

I am having trouble once conecting via ethernet cable from one of the 4 ports ont he router to my printer, finding it via search for network printer on the desktop PC(Win 7)

How do i specify the printer IP address etc?

I have 1 desktop and 2 lap tops connected on the wireless network, but want to hard wire(ethernet) the printer on the network so it can be used bay all pc's.

Also if i am at work, is it possible to print to the home network printer over the internet?

I have the original Canon network CD/software but i get to a find printer connected and it does not find it.
I tried connecting via ethernet from printer to desktop, and printer to router to no result.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards

Corey

Look at the DHCP statistics on your modem/router to see what IP was handed out to the printer.

You could also print a status page from the printer... I'm sure you'll find that info in the manual :)

Thanks for the reply. :thankyou:

I managed to work out by pressing the page expell button for 6 flashes, i was printed out a network configuration page.

The LAN was diabled. :x
I could not seem to change this. :wall:

So i discovered that by pressing the same button for 10 flashed resets the printer to factory settings.

Installed the network tool for Win7 and bingo. Printer is now LAN set up for printing.

Now next Q. :?:

Is it possible for me to print to it via dsl say from my work PC 100k's away?

If so how do i allow this on my network print settings?
