Hi,
I recently upgraded my home network to Gigabit Ethernet, and got powerline for other areas in my house. I got
these when they were on sale (side note: there state 500Mb/s and 1000Mb/s, which are they?), along with a Netgear DGN3500. On a night time, after ~8-12 hours of use, I lose internet connectivity on my ethernet ports, but I still have access over WiFi. I checked last night, and through a wireless device, I could access the router back-end. It showed my 2 ethernet devices connected, and the log file only showed a few UDP/TCP warnings that I always seem to get. Furthermore, I could interact between the 2 computers on the ethernet; my main PC could connect to my home server, ping it and stream movie files from it. However, connecting to the router IP only timed out.
One time when this happened, I simply restarted the powerline adapters (I believe the data light was not on), which worked. This time, I had to reset the router.
One final note: When I use the provided powerline utility, when I try to enter the passwrod (the one shown on the bottom of the unit, and the default one in the manual) I get an authentication error. Furthermore, I cannot see anything for the MX Rate (the HPAV Rate Tx/Rx is 141 Mbps/152 Mbps), so I have no idea what actually speed I am getting.
Any ideas as to why I would not have internet over ethernet (even when not going through a powerline adapter), or when my adapters would suddenly stop data transmission/not show the MX Rate?
