So I'm going to give a full explanation of what I am attempting to do in multiple parts.

The main goal, which I have kind of given up on...

I have a cable modem connected to a WRT54G which is sending the signal to the majority of my apartment. On the other side of my apartment I have a WHS running on an Aces Aspire. This unit does not have wifi built in.

I am attempting to use a WAP54G as a wireless bridge for the server to run on the network. I am finding this impossible. For some reason it just never works for me so I gave up and decided to use the WAP as a repeater to boost the signal for my wii which always has intermittent connection speeds.

After setting up the WAP54G as a repeater it boosted the signal to my Wii for about 10 minutes and then the connection dropped. Ever since that drop, which was now about a week ago, my wii refuses to see my entire network. The original WRT54G connection won't show up as an access point when wii searches for one and the WAP54G refuses to see the internet after I set it up as a repeater again.

Things I've done to remedy.

I have reset my wii and my WRT54G attempting to basically start over with the network but the Wii still refuses to see the access point.

I gave up on the wii and attempted to get the WAP54G communicating with the WRT54G again. I did a hard reset. Set the WAP54G with the WIRELESS MAC of the WRT54G. I replaced the SSID with the same as the WRT54G. The communication channels are the same, the wireless security is set to the same type, same password and same Group Renewal time. Still absolutely nothing except a growing desire to smash my Wii and my WAP54G.

At this point I have no Wii on the network. The repeater is basically a plastic box sitting in my den and the homeserver is still not on the network. Hopefully someone can see what I am obviously doing wrong. Thanks in advance guys.

Dan
