%SYS-6-LOGGINGHOST_STARTSTOP:

Tue Jan 11, 2011 9:45 pm

Jan 11 21:16:23.715 EST: %SYS-6-LOGGINGHOST_STARTSTOP: Logging to host 192.168.1.3 Port 514 started - reconnection
Jan 11 21:20:22.569 EST: %SYS-6-LOGGINGHOST_STARTSTOP: Logging to host 192.168.1.3 Port 514 started - reconnection

can't find much about this message, not sure what it means.

I think it started when I set an access list on my l3 switch to allow syslog traffic from my AP int vlan 80 to my syslog server in vlan 10,
but I'm not sure, since I've been researching, the logging events have stopped.

access-list on the vlan 80 svi allows ap host to syslog host udp 514

Cisco Output Interpreter isn't much help...

Code: Select all
%SYS-6-LOGGINGHOST_STARTSTOP (x2): Logging to host [IP_address] [chars] [chars]

Explanation: Syslog logging to the specified server or host has started or stopped.

Recommended Action: No action is required.
