Hello there, I have recently introduced myself to the forum.

Now I have a basic networking question, which I hope I can get some help with:
I am setting up a small network for a non-profit organization, and came up with a few problems.
The main one being that I cannot send anything to print from Mac Minis on groud floor, to printer.
In order to make myself clear I have produced a graphic scheme of the network set up.
Everything runs on DHCP, except for printer that has a set IP.
I also wonder if I should change any IP on this network to fixed instead of DHCP...
Any help: much appreciated!

looks like you may need a route added to the router to let the mini's know how to get to the printer.
at least for the wifi ones.

What do you exactly mean with a "route added to the router"?
Does that mean I have to set fixed IP's for the Minis?
Something within the same IP range than the printer?

on my network I have several subnets,
192.168.1.0/24
192.168.2.0/24
....
192.168.9.0/24

I have computers in one vlan
servers in another
tv in a third
wireless etc.

so if traffic takes the default gateway to the router, heading towards the internet I have route statements on my router that point the way to get to these networks is through my internal L3 switch

no you don't have to set fixed IPs on the minis.
you jst need to tell the router how to get to the printer network.
