Hello, it hasn't been much since my last question ... what to do I'm desperately desperate :(

anyway, I reached chapter 6 (CME dial-plan) and trying to apply the configuration using packet tracer.

to connect analog phones to the CME router I need VWIC for 2811 router

http://www.packettracernetwork.com/cisc ... dules.html

this page shows the modules I can use, I picked WIC-2AM and added it to the physical tab for the router

but I'm not sure what to do next, I tried show voice port summary and it showed its invalid command like it was showing before adding the module

what to do to have FXS and FXO ports on 2811 ????

I will appropriate any advice, link, tip, anything ..

I think the WIC-2AM is just a modem module, correct? For FXO, we use VIC2-4FXO modules.

yah I was just reading about this ... WIC modules for data only,
no VIC/VWIC modules for the router under physical tab ,,,
so I guess I can't add analog phones :S

thanks for the answer !

As far as I know PT doesn't supports analog lines.

Besides the module. you need at least one PVDM card to convert the analog signals to IP packets and viceversa.

I was searching and found this example http://myogyisg.blogspot.com/2011/08/vo ... er-53.html
using analog phone but they added home VoIP PT device, but I didn't like that because that new device will be configured through IP
it will be VoIP dial-peer not POTS as I understand so far ..
about the PVDM yes for DSP, but I didn't reach that point and have a feeling PT won't support it !

thanks Carlitos_30 I :D have a nice day

I knew the 'Home VOIP' as an ATA device.

Funny PT names.
