Help with switch management IP

Fri Jul 29, 2016 2:17 am

Hello all,

Apologies but this may be a very basic question for these forums. I have recently started self learning and am still in the early stages.

I am currently playing around with packet tracer to get some basic setup knowledge.

For this question if we can assume I have the following devices:

1xPC IP address 10.30.1.100
1xSwitch

I want to have a separate IP range for the management of network devices.

If I set the IP address of interface Vlan1 on the switch to 10.30.200.2, how can the pc telnet to this as it is a different subnet?

Thanks for any help.

Matt
