yea so I have a PoE switch here and I am getting electrocuted when I touch either the screws on the side of the metal plate on the front that covers the ports.

its like the whole chassis is electrified. doesn't shock me when I touch the lid though just bare, unpainted metals.

I don't think that's appropriate for a family forum...

...and now back to our program...

Well it is Providing Power, just to the wrong place :D

Is it a constant voltage or just a static like shock?

Could just be a grounding issue, or perhaps something is making a short internally? Does it actually still function correctly?

its a current flowing through my hand. I feel it when I touch the side and I see my hand is on the screws that hold the cover on. I also feel it when I touch the face plate of the ports. to me this is not normal and I wonder if I should RTV. the switch works perfectly fine otherwise.

Had that too once. Grounding issue, you may want to check that first.
