Now, using the NM-2fe2w, I can see the serial interfaces, I just can't get them to work. I can't get the line to come up. I've tried multiple cables. My config is just an ip and clock rate and the no shut command. Maybe my NM is bad. Maybe something with the router. It will cost me the same amount for a NM-2fe2w or a 3640, so I'll have to decide on how I want to go about the next stage in this process. Thanks for the help.
Put the nm-2fe2w into another 3640 with the same version of IOS and see if it works. If it does then it is the first router that is having a problem with the nm. If the second router has the same problem then it is the nm that is the problem.
