Hi all,

My CCNP is due to expire in May this year & will need to take an exam before then to recertify.

I'm thinking of taking the TSHOOT exam as this is one which wasn't around when I passed.

I'm hoping someone could answer some question I have regarding the above?

As my qualification expires in May I obvisiously need to take it before then BUT when?
What I mean is that if the worst happens & I fail but I took the exam say April, would I have to wait a month before retaking it or is the wait to retake shorter?

If say I took it in Feb & passed, would my CCNP start from Feb (the day I pass) or May (the day it is due to expire)?

TIA

You have to wait a week to take the same exam if you fail. You need to pass a qualifying exam before May your expiration date to recert.

any professional 642 exam will recertify your CCNP

Thank you

Are you reviewing anything in preparation?

Any Professional level exam? Not sure if that means a CCNP "core" exam (ROUTE, SWITCH or TSHOOT) or a specialty (CCNP Security etc)? Please clarify.

Sure -
Code:
642-832 Official Certification Guide
http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

Other than that I've downloaded the images Cisco posted showing the network & using GNS3 will try to recreate it. I'm also reviewing both the 'switch & route' & messing around with my home lab (not played with it for a while!)

Hi all,

Just to say that I passed today!! :)

Well I say I passed but since my last exam things have changed & I now have to login to pearsonvue/authenticate.
I googled & found that Cisco have introduced certain measures to stop cheating (photos etc).

My confusion is when I log into pearsons it states that I have passed & I have my photo there but should I see my score card? (like 100% here & 80% here etc)

Congrats on the pass!!

I always thought that you only got a printed out score card at the time you finish the exam at the center you are at, online it only ever shows pass/fail/expired etc
Could be wrong though

Cheers

Sorry I did get a printed out score card but on the print out is where is states that I need to login into pearsonvue/authenticate. It states at the top of the print out "The score information displayed on this report is preliminary & does not constitute an official score report" !!

hence the confusion on my part..

It usually takes a day or two to update on your Cisco account.

You won;t get a score on pearson vue website , nor on cisco's site. Even when you publish your credentials you won't get it. It's irrelevant and the only place you will see is on your score card. Congrats !

I don't think I'm wording this correctly so here goes.

On my print out I was told to go to pearsonvue.com/authenticate where I need to enter my reg number & validation number (both on the print out). Once there I see my photo & my cisco id etc along with "Grade Pass".

I believe this procedure has been implemented in the last month (though I could of been misinformed) so I was wondering have I now validated my pass or is there something else on that page I need to see (the print out states that I should go to the web site before 72 hours are up)

the report you were given upon exit from the exam is where the score number is.
you need to keep this document as proof of pass as stated on the printout.

Cheers for the feed back everyone, so I guess I'm a CCNP for another 3years :)

I think I 'flapped' a little when I read that on the print out though you all seem to say don't worry - so I'm not

Thanks
