Are offset lists used extensively in the real world? My CCNP ROUTE book just dedicated 3 paragraphs to it and gave the worst possible example to show its configuration.

I've used them once in real life. It was a weird situation where i had a bunch of stupid shit going on.

I felt the same way when I came across that section. Best to do it in lab. As Infinite said, it's a handy tool at your disposal.
