Hello,

Hope anyone can help me.

I try to connect 2, 3560 switches to eachother using 1000base-T sfp's but nothing is hapening.

To check if the interfaces are defect i connected the interfaces to a 1000base-t gbic on a 3550, this is working fine.

Can anyone tell me what i do wrong.

greatings

Ernst.

Can you give us a "show interface" output?
Are you sure the both interfaces are "no shutdown"?
Set the modes of the two switches to full duplex, and the speed to 1000.
Hm... this couldn't be the problem, because in the worst case they will work in "false" duplex modes but they should work.
When you fix the problem, write a message to the forum with the solution.

Hello,

I found the solution.

The problem was the utp-cable, it has to be a cat5e or cat6 cable. I use a massive core utp cable, now it is working fine.

With a flexible cable (15-20 small copper cables as one) i couldn't come higher than 100Mb.

There seem to bee a special cisco cable, didn't found it yet who does the trick to.

Thanks for all the sugestions (on different forums)

greatings

Ernst.
