trying to set this up with no joy

1 end config is

interface Serial0
ip address 172.16.120.120 255.255.255.0
encapsulation frame-relay
frame-relay map ip 172.16.120.105 101 broadcast

other is

interface Serial0
ip address 172.16.120.105 255.255.255.0
encapsulation frame-relay
frame-relay map ip 172.16.120.120 101 broadcast

Router#show frame-relay map
Serial0 (up): ip 172.16.120.120 dlci 101(0x65,0x1850), static,
broadcast,
CISCO, status deleted

tried using a blackbox sme x21
and 2 x21 cables joined togethor

Add the command "frame-relay switching"(global config) and "clockrate 64000" "frame-re intf-t dce"(interface commands) To the DCE router. Use "sh fram pv" to verify DLCI status. With this setup its kinda hybrid frame-relay switch.

I don't agree with Framerelay switching command as he is not trying to configure Frame Relay Switch. However remaining 2 commands are very important.

Try to enter "frame intf-dce" without using "frame switching" first ;)

In case of Back to Back Frame relay Check this out :wink: Cisco Document ID : 14193
