Dashawn,

Charles Goldberg of Cisco Systems says,

"In 12.3(7)T Cisco introduced the notion of a Transparent Firewall.

With a Transparent Firewall there is no need to segment your network.

It works at Layer 2 in the traffic path but it gives you full Firewall Protection.

You can learn more about Transparent Firewall capabilities at:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/ ... ee193.html

BTW, in IOS, you can enable Transparent Firewall simultaneously with traditional Firewall if you choose."

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
