Redistributing BGP into OSPF...

Fri May 12, 2017 3:52 pm

So recently I have been seeing a few cases where an ISP will propagate private address spaces to customers using BGP. The customer would then redistribute routes learned from BGP into their IGP. I have even seen these ISPs use public AS numbers for this. I have seen this particularly with AVPN setups.
Very weird feeling to redistribute BGP into OSPF with no filtering needed.

has anyone else seen this/done this? this kinda came out of left field for me but seems to actually make sense.
