outage

Thu Apr 17, 2014 8:34 am

Sorry - that was a long one. The server where this site is hosted is a datacenter in Provo, Utah that had major issues yesterday. It affected multiple hosting providers. More info here for the curious is here (router issue!): http://www.thewhir.com/web-hosting-news ... ata-center

That's twice in 4 months, so we'll be finding a new host soon.

There is some funny irony that a networking forum was affected by an issue relating to a router, even though it was the host's fault.

Sent by my NSA monitored Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

Ironic that there was another outage a year later, even longer. No comment from management for this one, however.
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.

The host did a major upgrade during their non-peak holidays times. Gave us major issues on our site, but we should have been up and stable again.

Congratulations. Too Little to Late. As you can see the ripple effects of the lack of communication and the lack of contribution from your parts has raised many a red flags around here!
