Assuming you're reading and analyzing posts multiple times to absorb all the details before compiling a response, and writing and revising a response multiple times for accuracy, then all that translates to a LOT of staring at very faint text and almost transparent borders, etc while your eyes get pummeled by the color scheme. There's a reason why technical blogs, vendor KB articles, docs, etc stick with the boring and traditional, but functional black on white...and why (as Steven said) most of us change our console output to something with high contrast.
I acknowledge that new owners == new vision and direction, but hope functionality, usability, and readability isn't compromised in the process. Thanks for considering.
It's not growing on me. Sorry. I kept an open mind but my frustration level has been rising and it's less hassle to just reduce participation than put up with the headaches (literally the site gives me headaches now). It's not like I'm some kind of major contributor to the site, and I don't have the expectation of being catered to. I'm just offering honest feedback.
This is not a geek friendly design. Simple as. Attractive from a distance, but the functionality has been gutted and reading the text gives me a headache. the font is narrow and small, light color, on a white background. Ouch.
