We will be moving to a new server this Sunday. I will provide more details as I get them.

What? For real?

It's looking like I'll be taking down the site at about 10:30A Central. Host is saying 24-48 hours, but I can't imagine it will take nearly that long.

BTW, here is what we're moving to:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0GHz
2GB RAM
2x 250GB SATAII Hard Drives (Primary + Backup)
2000GB (6Mbit) Monthly Bandwidth
10Mbit Uplink
CentOS 5.x
cPanel/WHM

All by our friggin selves.

Yea, it's been slow lately. Sometimes not loading at all. Might just be my unreliable home internets though.

So did you compare my host and yours? Are they giving you a good deal?

No, I think it's the server/service. If it's still slow after the migration, I'll leave them and go find somebody else.

It's comparable to what you're paying, but I needed CP cause I'm no server admin. :)

What all do you use it for? It's been awhile since I've played with cPanel.

Email settings including accounts, filtering, SPAM Assassin.
File editing when FTP is unavailable.
Occasionally to setup FTP accounts.
phpMyAdmin.
Awstats.
Some cron stuff.
MIME types and other trivial server settings.

I haven't spotted the slowliness of the forum.

This is what I have been seeing as well mostly. Going to go through withdrawals while the site is down. :(

Huh - I haven't really noticed anything. It's all been working fine for me.

No problems over in this part of the world - although I didn't get on much during the last week.

I haven't noticed anything really, but it's been a while since I have been around. I did get one mysql error about maxusers=1500 a week ago. Anyway, good luck with the migration, and if the budget happens to fall short in the near future, I'd be happy to donate to the cause. I think this forum is a terrific resource for the newbies and old salts alike.

The site will go down at around 10:45AM Central, 2 hours from now. I will update the site's maintenance message with our progress.

Done, but still in the testing phase. Let me know if you see any issues.

Thanks,
Steve
