I'm going to end up fat if people keep posting pictures of delicious food.

It's making me want to eat steak at midnight.

there was:

hot chilli powder, cayene pepper, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, pepper, cumin, ground garlic.

i think that was it, il have to consult my cupboard later, however i am planning to build a waterproof bbq cupboard outside for all my bbq tools / spices / coal etc. this is getting serious!

Wife and kid are going to visit her side of the family in two weeks, I traditionally have a huge grill-up on that Saturday and eat on it all week. We're talking probably 5 pounds of ribs, a couple steaks, some burgers, maybe some sausage or chicken... it's a good time to contribute to this thread...

Though i seriously need to get a better grill. I want to build a smoker out of a 55-gallon drum, will post up here when I do.

My wife and kids are leaving on Sunday too and, coincidentally, I'm in the market for a new grill. I've seen some Academy Sports flyers with cool looking propane/burner combo grills. I'll have to go check them out.

I own a welder- it's how I've been able to completely design and build my own suspension for my Jeep and my truck, not to mention build a few neat widgets around the house.
I'm going to take a 55 gallon drum and cut/weld as needed to make a vertically-oriented smoker, complete with wheels, fire basket, and a couple different levels of grill area. I also would like to make a more traditional horizontal grill.

The only problem I've had has been finding a drum that doesn't have a liner and hasn't held toxic chemicals.

may want to look at an old oil tank, these will work too, fairly easy to burn out the tank of contaminants.

Oil = Toxic.

Although yes, first thing I'll do after I build it is slather olive oil on the insides and give it a good burn-in. So maybe if I can find a 55 gallon drum of edible oil...

(I always think of oil as "motor oil". I take your point, and good idea)

or look at ebay, they seem abundant food grade buckets, and cheap, but heavy to ship.
25 bucks for the barrel, 50 bucks to ship.

"Stuffed Scallops" for the wife, big ole pork chop that was brining all afternoon for me, slathered in some home made carolina mustard bbq sauce. Grilled yams, and some grean beans in the tinfoil.

gas is not barbeque.... ;)

I am laying in provisions for the grill-up and bachelor week next Saturday through the following Sunday. Bought a couple nice rib-eyes, i plan to do a Brazillian BBQ on them- very simple: water, garlic, and black pepper, baste and flip every 2 minutes over medium fire.

Gonna do a mess of burgers and sausages as well as a nice rack of ribs I picked up. Will eat on this all week, and good thing, too- Monday at 1600, I am getting "The Big Snip". I don't anticipate getting much of crap done until about Thursday.

When you come to Australia it's all gas baby. Except for roasts on the webber... and wood fire pizzas, and some old old old wood fire bbqs.
