Hey guys,
found this thread via google - I'll go to ISOL in september for CCIE Security preps.
I know that I'll not be an instant CCIE but I think it will offer me the time I'm currently lacking to get my CCIE training done.
If you wish I'll keep you updated.
BTW have been to india for CCSP preperation and well it paid of :)

cheers

We'll probably run into each other. The official course ends on August 24th for me, but I've booked an extra month where I'll be completing my own workbooks and reviewing material.

Well I guess I should comment on a few things:

I'm currently enrolled in the 12 week course and so far so good. The instructor is extremely knowledgeable and he's always available to us. A typical day is about 3-4 hours of theory, then 3-4 hours of labbing. We'll keep doing that for the first month, second and third month are supposed to be full day labs/scenarios. How will it go down? Too early to tell, but I don't have one complaint yet.

With that said, I've had a couple of beers with a few guys from the last CCIE batch and the blog is spot on (many of them stayed a few extra months to enjoy the life here). Sucks to say, but there's no point in lying. I can however say that they've stepped up their game (so far). The batch from December to February (the batch before the bloggers batch) had no complaints, as I contacted a few guys via LinkedIn to get their opinions on the course. Lol, I wasn't flying half way around the world to get robbed.

Living accommodations are nice; the building is not new, but you have all the essentials, a maid cleans your stuff 3 times a week, and the classes are held in the same building. You can find cheaper places with less amenities, but hey, to each their own.

The nightlife can be distracting, as the apartment complex is about 1 block away from one of Bangkok's biggest red light districts. I've yet to visit it. Bars are pretty much everywhere though and grabbing a quick beer for an hour or two is easy and cheap.

You have access to your Cisco rack from 9 am to about 9-10pm (you can probably get it until later, but I haven't asked yet).

Can't think of anything else to say about the course itself, except that so far I'm getting what I paid for. Considering everything, if you're young, love to travel, enjoy the Asian culture/lifestyle, and are aspiring to get your digits, IsolThai could be a great move (or a terrible one if the nightlife gets to you... yes, the nightlife is that tempting).

Bahahahhaha^^^^ Man I wouldn't tattoo the Cisco logo on my back... Actually, if I passed my R&S lab, who knows what I would do.

And yeah Scott, I'm currently living in Bangkok, enrolled in the class. I plan on booking my lab soon, probably for mid September, in Hong Kong.

On Sunday, I'll try snapping some pics with my Canon. If you're interested, I could post a few...

Glad to hear it's going great, I hope it stays that way for you.
I would love to join you but I think the wifey may have something to say about that.

Don't forget pics of the racks, both sorts.
