Went by REI on my lunch break and my damn toes won't fit in the Vibrams. I'm stuck with regular shoes for now, and I really wanted to try them out.

There are others by Merrell and New Balance that don't have the funky toes.

I have a garmin forerunner 305 (i think). Been using it for a couple years and love it. I take it with me on hikes and vacations too and mark far away places that I've been to. It also has an heart rate monitor.

I've also recently been using the gps on my phone with endomondo and that also works well.

They mostly like walking around barefoot. Not sure "comfy" applies.

I saw quite a few peeps wearing those OP's footwear at the pool party last Sunday. It was a "I saw this and thought of you" moment.
