Certs: currently preparing for ccna
I have a question. if i take the subnet address 172.16.64.0 /20 and use VSLM to subnet to 6 usable host then that would give me 172.16.64.0 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.248. is 172.16.64.0-172.16.64.7 network usable? On my VLSM chart it is grayed out. the next subnet is 172.16.64.8-172.16.64.15

yes it is usable.
greyed out is old information,
ip classless in the config will enable
the use.
